Construction of the new ESTBarreiro campus at Quinta dos Fidalguinhos, Barreiro, began in February 2005 and was concluded in the summer of 2007. The campus, which was designed by architects ARX Portugal, was featured in the 2007 Lisbon Achitecture Triennale and since opening it has attracted visits from a number of international architects.
It was conceived to provide technological education in the fields of Civil Engineering, Construction and Chemical Engineering as well as space for leisure and cultural activities and has a capacity of 750 students.
The new ESTBarreiro campus is expected to play an important role in the scientific and technological development of the area, offering excellent facilities for promoting learning and investigation while playing a significant part in local and regional development
